—MANHATTAN BEACH, CA 7/24/23
It was a battle of two teams, each with only 3 riders. ButcherBox Cycling with Eddy Huntsman, Ryan Jastrab and Eduaro Cruz versus Legion of LA with Tyler Williams, Cory Williams and Justin WIlliams. With 1 lap to go Huntsman ushered Cruz and Jastrab alongside a fast moving Legion leadout train after fending off a number of other teams. As the finish line came into sight Huntsman increased the speed leaving Cruz and Williams sprinting for 1st. In a very close finish, Justin WIlliams secured victory with Cruz taking 2nd place for a 3rd year in a row. This also earned Cruz the CA state title.

Dušan Kalaba, from Serbia, won the criterium with a time of 1:20:36. He finished third in the individual time trial. Kalaba was the men’s omnium winner, edging Colorado Mesa’s Ian Anderson, 148 points to 141.
